Why Homeschool Kids Are Smarter Than Kids Who go to Public School

A Canadian study has shown that children who are taught at home are usually more intelligent than children attend public schools. These results are not surprising but are consistent with the decision of a will the education of their children. Find out why you want to teach their children make the leap to home should be.

Why my kid is smarter
Not to brag, but I have compliments for my son the whole time was given for two things: his intelligence and good character. Many parents around the time their children become teens are biting their nails hoping for the best. I do not worry. I know my son is comfortable enough in their skin to get his own place in the world upright. I mention these two compliment to the simple fact that I chose to homeschool him.

May support prior to entering into a discussion of the Canadian study, home schooling, parents already know what, I would be a few reasons why I offer that homeschooled children perform better on tests and think, why they tend to be more intellectually inclined.

First, do not children taught at home learn to hate learning. In the public school environment is reduced to the system of punishments and rewards, inherent fun, learn new things about the world around us. In contrast, public schools must demonstrate a commitment to a specific body of knowledge.

If your child feels that he or she is thrilled by the study of the solar system, there is no place for that in the classroom when the class has changed. Sure, students can continue studying in their spare time, but if the student is trained to go home, the students were so deeply about this study, as he or she likes.

Shine with the instruction one-on-one student. There is a reason parents hire tutors for struggling students - the ratio of one-on-one work in terms of learning. If only one (or few) of the students will pay more attention to whether the student understands the material or not focused. If the student does not understand something, the parent-teachers to continue on this topic until you get the domain. In the classroom, this is not possible. Teachers need to cover a set curriculum during the year. The reverse is also true when a student demonstrates mastery quickly, no need for him or not his study on this topic.
I am an eclectic homeschooler. I can combine the best of both worlds of classical philosophy and education. That may seem a contradiction, but I think the story is chronologically the best way to learn. My son loves the classics of literature (and not, Shakespeare is not afraid at all). At the same time, to assign responsibility for learning in their hands, who have learned to their own goals (including learning from Chinese) is set, and manage your time. These are basic skills can have homeschoolers.
Homeschoolers do not be afraid to get tests. Learn to learn anything. Even if my child does not know what something is, you know how to find references to support their learning on the subject. These are key skills for lifelong learning.
The Canadian study
The Canadian study, published originally in the Canadian Journal of Behavioral Health, followed by 74 students - 37 were educated at home and 37 attended the public schools. The results showed that children would be tested in public schools in grade level, children are educated at home well above grade level. In general, children are taught at home at least half a grade ahead when it came to math and two grades ahead in reading. That sounds great - why not do it - but there are some things to consider.

Home schooling is not a competition
If you are homeschooling your child, try to avoid comparing him or her other children! Even if you teach a fourth grade reading at grade level 10, but his friend is reading at grade level 11, not in the home education seen as competition. If you treat learning as a game that has won, was for most children start, which is probably the love of learning activity are increasing. If it is against members of his group of homeschooling, you will lose focus on the real goal: Make sure the students the tools they need to have success as an adult.

Actually, what is teaching - not about who crosses the finish line first. It's not about who's smarter - the boy or girl living on the street goes to public school every morning. This is to ensure that our children they need to succeed in the world. It is good to set goals. It is not healthy, use your child as a bargaining chip to increase self-esteem.

Not all children progress at the same speed
Do not panic if your child is "behind" where you think he or she should. One reason why you are choosing this method of teaching is that it allows for greater flexibility. This means that you participate with your child studies. If he or she has trouble with spelling, but excels in math, then you can be that fit! That's the beauty of it. They also have a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses (we all have them). Do not push your child just because you want to be ahead. Make sure each step of the way to get the support you need your child's educational focus.

What do you think? Are children taught at home smarter? The Canadian study suggests that this was true only in structured homeschools, but do you think school students also work well if given a chance?
